Calder Mountain Lodge (Off Season Address)

Another fantastic trip in the books. We went again to the Calder Mountain Lodge out of Point Baker Alaska. Six days at the lodge and just a phenomenal time with our daughter. This is our second trip in three years. My wife caught a 115lb halibut, and this year we tried fishing for salmon and in only a few outings caught a diozen silver and pink mix. All told we brought home 200lb of fish, give or take. The staff are young people in their early 20’s with fantastic work ethic and great attitudes. The boats are new and clean and stocked for you every day with great rod’s and tackle, bait, and everything you need to self guide your days. After receiving a recommendation from friends, we chose to book our son's High School graduation trip at Calder Mountain Lodge for a bear hunting excursion. The staff at the lodge was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They provided thorough instructions on operating the boats, even for those of us with limited experience. We were pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to return in the future. We look forward to the possibility of visiting again soon.

Calder Mountain Lodge is a phenomenal place, PERIOD!! The setting is wonderful, the scenery of spouting whales as they pass, the mischievous sea otters, or bears combing the beaches all add to the magic of this resort. Then you add the magnificent fishing, great food and accommodations into the ingredients, and you have yourself one hellaciously awesome trip. Don't pay extra when you can stay with the Miller's at Calder Mountain and get everything you could possibly want

The setting is beautiful, remote, and relaxing. The people were fantastic, helpful, and knowledgeable. We happened to go up during a real dry spell. Not a drop of rain all week, which is odd enough, but that plus the high tides were making the fishing really difficult. We still caught piles of them and brought plenty home. The food at the lodge was plentiful and tasty. The place books fast and we booked our next trip up before we even finished the week up there. We'll be back for sure!

Great lodge. Fantastic setting in a remote protected cove. Great fishing close by. Great food. The Millers work very hard to give you the best possible Alaska fishing experience. Been 7 times. Gets better every time. Can't do better than this.
