Cajun Heritage R/V Park

This campground has seen better days. I we had noticed it on the show The Reluctant Traveler, where it seemed to be upscale. Sites were either 30 or 50 amp, not the dual outlets commonly found. Sewer inlets missed caps. Overall it could benefit from some upkeep.

We just stayed at Frenchmans for a week and overall we enjoyed here. Here's the low down-||Pros:|Nice and peaceful. It convenient to i10 but far enough away to not be disturbed by road noise. I was awoken up by a chorus of bird song every morning. ||The spots are nice and big, most have a nice concrete pad and the owners help you back in, so you are perfectly aligned with the pad- we found this very helpful, even though we are parking pros by now. I recommend getting a spot with a pad, as the ground can get a bit squishy.||The owners are lovely! Very helpful and they pick up trash bags if you leave them by the end of your spot- I hate walking to the dumpster, so I loved this nice touch. ||AT&T had great coverage here with LTE. ||There's a little store to buy ice cream, niknaks and beer etc

Nice campground, would not recommend unless you like loud music, management needs to police the noise. The people that camp there ride around in their golf carts to see who has the best stereo in their golf carts. It's hard to visit with friends when every 10 seconds a golf cart passes playing their music so loud, it will rattle the fillings out of your teeth.

Follow up : I literally asked why I couldn’t access 5g WiFi and offered to pay for it , and was told no. All weekend with no ability to watch phone or tv was annoying. That being said, it is not “crappy “, the band Saturday night was great entertainment, and I did give the park a 4 star location in my original review. Original : (minus the crappy comment). RV parks should not advertise that they have Wi-Fi when they have almost no cell connection and 2G Wi-Fi that never connects to anything. When I asked the front desk manager, if I could pay to connect to their 5G, she said “no”. Then I explained to her that they should not advertise that they have Wi-Fi when there’s literally no connection. Her response was “well sometimes it connects and sometimes it don’t.”

This was a neat little gem I am happy we found! We stayed two nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Well kept grounds. Some wildlife can be seen like rabbits in the fields. We wanted something between Lafayette and Avery Island and this was perfect. Would recommend and stay again.
