Customer Reviews
-Resort fee but no resort amenities -Wi-Fi doesn’t work and no cell coverage -Unit came with a coffee machine but no filters -No Working AC in the middle of summer!!! -Unit had one fan though but stuck on lowest settings -Our stay had a 6 hour power outage -Claims to be dog friendly but there’s no dog amenities -Not enough bedding for all beds -Loud neighbors blasting music and quiet hours not enforced -Low quality furniture; quite uncomfortable -Not enough towels for number of guests -Very limited trash bins around the property -Door didn’t latch—you’re either locked inside or locked outside with a padlock; not safe -Staff was friendly but the camp store was always crowded with a wait -No pedestrian paths; dodging UTVs every time you walk to the camp store
A really fun, unique experience. Right on the water with a deck and great trails nearby. Our caboose #10 is really nicely done. The shower needs a thorough scrubbing, especially the floor which is too slippery.
Stayed here twice now. Fun place to stay and the cabooses are well-furnished including excellent bathrooms and showers. It is super picturesque with a river and steep mountain sides. My only knock on the place is the WiFi service. It’s located only at one caboose and it’s next to impossible to get it at any of the other cars. They need to replicate the WiFi in multiple places. So I took off one-star for this. I saw other patrons there beyond myself having to walk over to the Caboose with the WiFi just to check their phones. Hopefully they can improve this in the future.
We had always driven past here on other trips and said, "wow that looks kinds neat!"; turns out it is! We finally stayed during the last weekend of June and had such a blast we considered extending our stay. The train cars are surprisingly spacious and have plenty of furniture. The kitchens are small but functional (could use more dishes though), and the bathrooms are set up in a convenient way (sinks outside of the shower and toilet room so you don't have to wait for others to finish up). The train cars are right on the river, with a large grassy lawn inbetween. Each car has a little table and firepit area, as well as a porch attached to the car. It really is quite beautiful here! The only unfortunate parts of the stay were the lack of wifi inside the car (it works outside the car thou
We stay in the GREAT NORTHERN. It faces the river, with great views from the porch and inside the train car. It does not have a fire pit in front of the train, but it has a run-down BBQ that can be used for cooking for two people. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, including pots, cups, and pans. The website says this train sleeps eight people, but it does not. It has three queen beds in total. One is in the closed room, two queen bunk beds are in the back, and the couch is small and does not fold down. The service was excellent, and the place was very clean. We went at the end of September and could go for nice hikes in nice weather. We enjoyed our time and will be back.
