Buffalo Girls Hotel & General Store

Nestled just off 20 in Canton Tx is a beautiful little mountain that time and more have left beyond for us to enjoy! It truly brings the "Wild West " alive. Buffalo Girls Cafe adjoins along with a cool vintage like"Old General Store" Including a gourmet sectionfilledwith seasonings, sauces and soups of great flavors! The Natural scents of pinion wood swarms the air! It has and many more interesting and unique shops. If you darehike up the Mountain, there sits at the top sits a pretty old chapel. It feels a bit like camping out but in "Old west style" Susan and Mike will work diligently till the end to make your visit great and comfortable with a few ammenities that were not available in the Old West! LOL. On !st Monday weekend, abundant shopping awaits only blocks away by a trolly bus! So

The room itself was nice but the bathroom shower was not. Being on "The Hill" was different. It is like an old western town and VERY rustic. Hard to get around by walking if you have any balancing issues or lots to carry. There are stairs, gravel, stones and uneven surfaces everywhere. The communication from the staff was great and coffee in the morning was sweet. We thought the rooms were a bit pricey for what you got. Very nice people and room was clean except for shower area.

I absolutely love this place. It's like an old Western town with a modern twist. When I stayed I was in between the fudge shop and the little sports cafeteria. They have little shops and eateries and have live music on the weekend. It's very rustic, great atmosphere and about 5 minutes or less from First Monday. I think their average price starts at about 115.00 a night. One of the best pizzas I've ever had there. As far as the rooms, they're a little outdated, a musty smell, window units and not sure they had cable. It looked like it was available but I never knew how to work it so I just watched live TV but that's not a big deal to me. If it is to you I would suggest asking the front desk when you check in. Fantastic, unique place with an "Old West" feel. Not the Hilton or like any chain hotels-thos is "the real deal"!!!! Cabins & rooms are not elegant and ritzy, but they are cozy and cute. Owner, Susan, is on site dressed up as Annie Oakley and is always ready to chat for a while.

This is the best hotel I have ever been to! The decor is so authentic and has such a great feeling that I truly did not want to leave. I'm planning another trip to Canton just so I can stay here again. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure. The staff was so nice and hospitable. My experience here really was amazing. I do not understand why anyone would post that the hotel is "too rustic" when the pictures clearly show that is the intention. It is a western themed hotel and the pictures are very true to life.
