Buffalo Gap Retreat

This is a real cool hidden gem. I booked a cabin with my son for the weekend and found the accommodations very cozy. We got some great peaceful sleep out in the country and had fun at the well-maintained beach during the day. We even got to see some wild animals roaming around the property. The food was also really good, so there was no need to leave the resort. I can't wait to go back!

This is a great place with a lot to offer. We stayed in the campground with about 30 other families from our church. Everyone had a great time playing in the pond, kayaking, hiking around, and the giant bon fire pit on the retreat was impressive. I would love to come back!

I've been here for several events. It's a great location to be with nature. I've had a great time every visit. It is worth noting is it is somewhat rough; but that is not a negative for me. I have stayed in the cabins, as well as camped onsite. I don't travel to the wilderness of WV for the Hilton. Prepare beforehand, as you would with any trip to the wilderness, and comfort can be had. Common areas are well maintained, but you are still in a forest, prepare accordingly.

Buffalo Gap is a gem of a getaway, and a delightful venue for the rustic cowboy-themed wedding we attended this weekend. The owners and staff were gracious and attentive, the food was delicious, and accommodations were quaint and welcoming. The location is secluded, but only a short drive to shopping and local attractions. We're excited to return for a longer visit next year :)

My family keeps coming back here to this little magical place of peace and beauty. Rustic cabins with everything you need. Beauty everywhere, kayaking, a fabulous wood fire sauna.... an incredible country drive to Capon Springs (avoid highway route) where you can do a little swim and soak.....
