Boynton Landing

This experience will definitely be a story passed down to my future kids. We decided we were going to ride our inflatable paddle board down to Washington blue spring, without taking into account the fact there's a current coming back. We ended up losing air in our board a mile from camp and got stranded in the thick marsh swamps. It got pitch black QUICK and we were surrounded by gators. Their eyes glowing all around us. Literally only 6 feet away from us. I've never been scared I was gonna die until that night. Thankfully FWC had a great response time, about an hour, they putted out to us and brought us back to camp. Super nice guys, very informative of the river and surrounding swamps. Do not attempt to float downstream of this river on an inflatable vessel. Motor boats ONLY lol

It was quiet, private and those launching their boats at dark o'clock in the morning before sunrise are as quiet as can be.

This is a place to put your boat in the river, and a place to sleep for free. I went there just to sleep. It's close to a couple homes. There's a portapotty stinking up the sleeping area, so I put my tent in the parking area. The whole place is quite small, sandwiched between the river and a swamp. The owls and jumping sturgeon were making a ruckus that night.

This is a well developed boat ramp on the Choctawhatchee River off of Hwy79 just north of PCBeach….Porta John…..reservation required…..only ONE spot…..Pavillion/ concrete pad……Directly on the River, big river…..

Good boat landing, but can be rough to get boat on trailer when current is strong. .
