Boars Nest Bed & Breakfast

I wish I could rate this wonderfully located hidden gem higher. The owner, Mrs. Rose was lovely and very sweet during our stay. The main problem that we ran into was that for a bed and breakfast as it is advertised, there is no breakfast. I was extremely disappointed in that. I was fine with paying a little bit extra and staying further away from anything to do while we were on our trip for the enchantment of my first ever bed and breakfast experience. Unfortunately, that was not what myself and my family experienced. Do not stay here if you plan on staying at a bed and breakfast. If you are just looking for a bare bones hotel with no extra amenities this is the perfect place to stay due to the wonderful view. I Unfortunately will not be returning and will not recommend.

What a great place! We stayed for a weekend (8/15-8/17). We were in cabin #1 and our friends were in cabin #2. Booking was super easy and they even called the day before to give us arrival instructions. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this property is. Our cabin was very spacious. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen area was functional and the walk in shower was large. Small tv if you watch television on vacation (we don't). Breakfast was delivered early in the morning. Fruit, muffins and pastries. The coffee was good and there were 2 waters in the fridge. There is a back door to allow access to deck which provides a breathtaking view of the woods. So peaceful! We enjoyed our breakfast there (small table and chairs outside of each cabin). The hot tub was perfect

Last minute trip for Illinois wine trail...and it was the PERFECT spot. Peaceful. Great sunrise. Back porch sitting. Super clean. Hot shower. The easiest check-in-and-out I've EVER had anywhere! We will be back!

We spent one night in the Honeymoon cabin. The cabin is cute. Room to spread out. Didn't use the jacuzzi tub. Didn't look the cleanest. Loved the shower, but weird that there are no towel bars or hooks or anything to put towels and other things on. No real place to hang anything as there are no closets or bars. An old fashioned wardrobe that was cool, but not very practical for hanging things. The porch is neat with the porch swing, but sticky with some type of residue. Breakfast is minimal. If you are a big eater, bring your own or plan on eating in town. Glad to find this as we visit Anna every once in awhile and met our needs for an overnight. Loved the restaurant with the same name and they gave us a 10% discount for staying at cabins.

We were in the honeymoon suite. The room looked a little dirty, i found dust and dead bugs under the bedside table and in the corners. There were hairs in the shower and in the bed. There were leftovers in the fridge the garbage was full. But it is cute and nice. No privacy if you have to use the bathroom , 2 inch wide gap on the barn doors.
