Very quite. Beautiful lake views. Has electric and water, but It’s a park, so no sewer hookup, but a dump station is easily accessible on the way out. For us that’s a 5 day stay. Most campsites are paved and fairly level. Restrooms and Showers are immaculate. About 20 Nashville stations are available on antenna. Close to Gallatin if you want to do a little shopping. Laundry available also. Great playground for children. We camp here often as they are open year round , it’s a very relaxing place.

The park ranger building has some great stuffed animals, and t-shirts, snacks, etc. We drove by on a whim, and my husband decided to drop a hook in. It was pretty cold, so I took a walk on a well marked trail. Because it was winter there weren't many campers, so I had the trail almost to myself. One other person was fishing. Im looking forward to coming back with kayaks in warmer weather!

For a state park this is tiny, only about 160 acres (Metro Nashville has several 1,000+ acre parks) but it’s a delightful one that packs a lot into a small space. For a small place you have pretty hikes through hardwood forested hills, shoreline hikes, wildlife, ample fishing and boating spots, multiple playgrounds, a campground, a protected natural area, and even a chestnut replanting area. We live within the general area so come here frequently and we always feel blessed to have this little gem near our home. We have 4 children and the 3 that are older than 2 (one is a young toddler in a carrier pack) are able to do our 3 mile highline-shoreline hike without issue. The playground near the visitor center at the end is a great “carrot” to get them to want to finish the hike when they start

Very nice visitors center and staff! Welcoming, dog friendly, clean, hospitable! Trails are well maintained and marked. Be aware there are 70-80 stairs on the trail so you may want to do the Connector Trail, to the High Ridge Trail, to the Shoreline Trail, and go DOWN the stairs rather than up. Lots of wildlife and pretty scenery, with many well-placed benches to enjoy the views. For those who follow the BARK Ranger program, tags available for purchase (always happy to support our parks). Very enjoyable visit!

We LOVED this park! The Park Rangers definitely drive through often to make sure everyone is good. They wave and say hello, they also stopped by after we checked in and asked if everything was good. The campsite was very clean when we arrived and after going out for the day we came back and our firepit and grill was completely cleaned. All the ash from the charcoal was all cleaned out for our next BBQ and campfire. We saw so many deer too, even a baby nursing from the mama deer which is rare to see. The bathrooms were really clean along with the showers They have a cool path you can walk that's flat by the entrance and trails that are in the woods too. They even have kayak Tours with clear bottom boats there and the night tour has lights that light up the boat. It looked really cool. The v
