Just stayed at Black Forest for the first time this past weekend, and cannot say enough good about the entire campground and its amenities. They are blessed to have clean well water to source each campsite and also it provides very nice and clean full flush bathhouse. You won''t find a nicer and cleaner bathhouse other than some of the select NC State Park campgrounds. Each site also has electricity if needed and wifi for those who want that while camping. If not, just don't tell the people/kids camping with you. Deep wooded sites but flat and functional where needed. If this isn't enough, they have a camp store that has everything and then some that you would need to replenish your own stock or save the day on the "I forgot" items. Very nice and personable owners/staff that know th

From the get-go, I liked this family owned spot. It's a very pretty area and the campgrounds are truly immaculate...of the best we've encountered without a doubt. The camp store is really well stocked and they have all kinds of information on the falls and area. This campground has really been well thought out, and you can tell it's been a labor of love. If you are one to imbibe...there's really neat distillery just down the road, along with some good restaurants. Try the LemonHello. The couple that own it are really super, and the Mrs. has some NICE artwork and jewelry, too. Travel hint: If you're coming in from the south, it's really curvy. We came in from the north, and Brevard is a busy town, but I'm glad we did. Gotta see: Symme's Chapel - "The Pretty Place". And if you'r

This is a beautiful campsite. We stayed in the cabins and they were a perfect way to get out in nature without needing to set up out tent. Be warned, this campground is not flat, so if you plan on walking between sites a lot, you'll be going up and down a lot of hills.

Our second visit here was equally memorable and we look forward to coming back again next year! Haven’t found a better place to escape the heat of FL than this location. There were warm enough days to play in the mountains streams and many waterfalls and yet cool enough to enjoy hikes and campfires. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The campground is pristine and the large pool was an extra treat for our grandkids, along with the Saturday ice cream social. The owners have suffered from the cost of clearing the many trees that fell during the 2024 hurricane, though tree loss is unnoticeable in such a dense forest, postponing much needed repairs to the games & laundry building. But we still were able to get our laundry done, and enjoy a few games of air hockey. We always enjoyed

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Black Forest Family Campground in North Carolina, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The family who owns the campground is incredibly kind and welcoming. The campground itself is nestled in the woods near DuPont State Park, offering a peaceful and scenic escape. With over a hundred campsites, there’s plenty of room, and the amenities are fantastic, from a refreshing pool to a convenient store that’s open until 10 at night. Overall, it’s a warm and friendly place to stay, and I can’t wait to go back!
