Bishop Village Motel

My family has lived in Bishop for five generations. When I come to visit them, the Village Motel is where I stay. The rooms are clean and beautiful and the staff are extremely accommodating. They have a nice swimming pool and their location is within easy walking distance from most things in Bishop. This Motel is a lovely step back in time in all the good ways.

First, a disclaimer; we are GOING to be staying in November 2025, but we have stayed there multiple times in the recent past. Here's the simple breakdown on the Bishop Village Motel: if you're a person who books high-end hotel rooms only, well, you're probably not going to like the B.V.M. If you're like my spouse and I, you'll love the homey-ness. It's clean, management is great, and many of the rooms have a full kitchen with full-sized fridge and stove/oven. Yeah, it's older, but very well kept up, and the beds are top-notch. We've discovered that older concrete cinderblock motels are MUCH quieter than more modern hotels/motels. Your next-door neighbor has to be making a helluva racket before you'll even hear it. We plan on staying many more times while our retirement adventure continues.

Positive: I was able to park my vehicle right outside the door Negative: All year round heated pool was empty and from the dirt at the bottom it hadn?t been working for a while. Attendant said it would probably be open tomorrow. mouse in the room in the middle of the night, frig did not work, dirty, toilet too close to wall.

The room was clean, the turntable in the microwave didn’t fit well but worked ok. the rust around the bathroom windows was a bit gross. Otherwise a good place to stay overnight.

Clean and comfortable--and off the main highway (395) enough to be quiet as well. Though we didn't use it (only there one night) I loved the kitchenette!
