Big Walker Motel

Had a great rest here after a long night on the road. This is my 2nd stop over here this year. I usually stop here twice a year. I was able to check in early. As always here, the room was immaculately clean and quiet. I understand that this is one of the cleanest motels in the region. ||Prices have gone up again but are still reasonable. Overall, this place has better ratings than the chain hotels in Wytheville where you can read about plenty of "horror" stories. Even with the new higher rate, I still prefer this older but kept up motel. Very convenient to the Interstate. There are good eats nearby and a local, small supermarket a mile away.||I've never encountered any annoying noises or "sketchy" people overnight. The beds are so comfortable. My family and I stumbled upon this gem as we were traveling through VA. We had car trouble and needed a place close by to stay so we could have our vehicle serviced the next day. I called Big Walker Motel to check if they had any rooms available and the lady that answered the phone was so sweet and told us of course they had room for us. Our room was super clean, the beds were comfy and the hospitality we were shown was top notch. We travel through this area several times a year and we definitely will be booking our stay here again. :)

Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly attentive staff. Plenty of hot water and beautiful shower. Beds were not worn and towels were not threadbare. Planning on staying again on our next trip north.

I LOVED this place!!!! It takes you back in time. No fancy breakfast, but very clean and beds are so comfortable. They offer coffee that you can sip on as you over look the beautiful countryside (fog lifting in the morning) Affordable!!!! Clean bathroom very nice tile. Now the shower is a little small if you’re a big person. Need to ask them for a hairdryer or bring your own and pet friendly.

My truck broke down on the interstate near here and the tow truck driver dropped me off here while my truck was getting fixed. Listen, I was pleasantly pleased. Yes it may be dated(which i liked) but dont let the look fool you. Very clean, nice mattresses, very good water pressure in the room I had, and customer service was top notch. If you need a break from the road while driving through here. This is a nice place to stop.
