Big Don's Cabins

My sister booked this cabin in June for our October family trip, only for them to call her 2 DAYS before our trip and cancel the reservation without reason. That has left them to scramble to find other accommodations for 6 people 2 days before our trip during one of the busiest times of the year for folks to visit Cherokee. With the remaining family members’ reservations at other properties and one hotel booking, they were able to find placement. However, this should have NEVER happened. Do not do business with Big Don’s.

So we have had a big family trip to Cherokee, NC planned and booked since June for our trip in October. (FOUR MONTHS IN ADVANCE). My brother in law and his family, who had this one booked, received a call two days before check in and basically were told “we reserve the right to cancel and ruin your trip at anytime we feel necessary.” They claimed they were being cheated out of a night by my family. (WHO KNOWS HOW). This heinous cancellation put 4 adults, 1 toddler and a newborn out of a place to stay for their trip. My brother in law called them immediately after his wife got off the phone with them to ask about a reservation. He was told they are completely booked and couldn’t accommodate his request. Needless to say the only reason for this cancellation was to accommodate a frie

They cancelled my reservation without cause 2 days before my reservation at peak season when it was difficult to book another place. When we called to ask to make a reservation after they cancelled, they said they were fully booked. So they double booked our cabin and cancelled us.

Oh my what fun we had. Don and Gail were both wonderful to work with. The cabin was quaint and tidy and sat on a beautiful clear river with abundant trout. Especially abundant when after my none year old daughter struggled to get a catch...he placed a call to the hatchery and before long the river was filled. We spent two and a half days here and I wish it had been more! My hubby and I and my three kiddo ranging in age from 6-15 all had a great time. I highly recommend Big Dons for a family getaway!

This weekend was nothing but AMAZING!!! We had the pleasure of staying at Big Don's Cabin, him and his wife Gail was very friendly, the Cabin was just what we liked. It was clean and on the water!!! Thank you Mrs.Gail and Mr.Don!!! Well see yall again, soon!!!!
