A place I didn't know I needed to go to! I learned so much about bogs and peat, who knew they'd be interesting!?! The campground was lovely and clean. Free showers, docks and piers of off the campground, fire tower to climb for great views. The 2 mile round trip bog boardwalk was great. We were here in October so no orchids but no mosquitoes either. They are brutal in the summer. There's not much around here for groceries so come fully stocked. Campground is right off highway so you will hear the big trucks but it's not awful. There is electricity at campsites but no water. You can fill up with water at the fresh water spigots in the campground. There is no dump station.

Very quiet, primitive camping. No dump, communal water available. Nice docks and ramp to the river. Will stay again.

Very nice and clean campground! It is in walking distance from Upper Red Lake Beach. Electric only sites. Restrooms and showers were well kept. Park contains a dock on the Tamarac River, camper only boat launch and a store with souvenirs. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A short trail will take you to an accessible fishing dock. The Northern Unit is 9 miles away and has a great Bog Boardwalk that is worth the visit. The campground also has one of the remaining fire towers and it can be climbed

Great swimming, fire tower, and paddle options. We love this campground, but the real gem is the beach and picnic area across the road. Awesome spot for a family to play in the shallows of the big lake and catch the sunset.

It's a great campground for families, but the sites are very open and close together. Not exactly a serene peaceful night in the wilderness, but lovely all the same.
