Big Bear Lodge

Loved staying here. Located just outside the Northeast entrance. It is just outside Cooke City Montana, a quiet little town. When you enter Yellowstone, you'll take a ride along the Lamar River, great fly fishing location. Also full of wildlife. We saw grizzly, buffalo, antelope, deer and loads of other wildlife. Can't say enough about our host Autumn. She's helpful, friendly and made us feel right at home. Would go back if we can.

These are rustic very old cabin duplexes. Each cabin has a common wall with the neighbor. The Cabin consists of one large room and a bathroom. Our cabin was very clean and the bed comfortable. TheTV channel selection is outstanding. Coffee and breakfast snacks are available every morning. Autumn manages the place and she is very helpful and pleasant. We did have some challenges: The propane heater was not working so we were provided an electric space heater which ran pretty loud for sleeping so we turned it off at night and so it was freezing in the morning. Second night the room's lights did not work. To her credit Autumn dropped everything and replaced the faulty light switch, even if it was late at night. She really is a "jack" of all trades. Big Bear Lodge was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day as we left Yellowstone. Autumn treated us like an old friend and was so hospitable and kind. Having WiFi was a treat. The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a microwave and mini-fridge. The heater kept us very comfortable on such a cool night. The night view of the sky was such a treat. Breakfast in the morning felt like I was sitting at a friend's table.

A perfect location minutes away from the Yellowstone entrance and right at the start of the Beartooth Highway. Autumn was so friendly and accommodating when we asked to check in a little late. The Madison cabin was very cozy with a gas fireplace and rustic decor. The bathroom looked like it was recently remodeled. There was a great continental breakfast in the morning. We loved staying here and would certainly come back if we were in the area. Thanks Autumn!

Our stay at Big Bear Lodge was wonderful! The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The owner was very helpful, kind, and accomodating. She cares about her guests, which is refreshing! The location is very close to the Yellowstone NE Entrance. Highly recommend!
