Big Bass Campground

Very quiet, Was the only one there, excluding camp host who was very nice and helpful. Great hiking Trails all around, and so buetiful! You can even drink the water. Great lightning show at night. Camp sites are big and have plenty of separation. Only thing that made me give it 4 stars is it's kinda close to a highway. But that doesn't matter 2 much if your in the back.

I really enjoyed my stay at Big Bass Campground . The camp host was friendly and helpful . The campsites were large and the bathrooms clean. There is drinking water available and so many trails to explore. I saw plenty of wildlife including one very large alligator. On my last night , the stars were out and can be enjoyed from the campground or from any of the roads or trails deeper in the forest (spectacular ! ) .

IT WAS A NICE STOP FOR 2 DAYS. I WAS IN SITE 9. THE CAMP HOST GENTELMAN WAS REAL NICE EVEN THOUGH I HAD TO BUG HIM A COUPLE TIMES. IT' DOES NOT HAVE MANY SPOTS IF YOU NEED SOLAR. I SAW SOME BIG RIGS IN THERE BUT IF YOU ARE A NEWBEE BACKING UP IT MAY BE A LITTLE TOUGH. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS I WAS COVERED IN TICKS OR I WOULD HAVE STAYED LONGER. I HAD 6 ON ME AND I AM STILL FINDING THEM ON MY DOG. (she is brown) TODAY IS MARCH 6, 2026 AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG THIS TICK SEASON WILL BE. ALL THE TICKS WERE NYMPHS.

Absolutely beautiful. However, ticks ticks ticks! Had to leave early because within one day, 2 ticks had already latched on. Heavy on bug spray from day one to repel them or otherwise daily checks.

Wild, basic, charming, big gator, birds, large ponds, infrequent small black bear, woods, Spanish moss. Near highway, evening and morning rush hour traffic. Low cost, extremely low cost with silver national discount for older or disabled. Outhouse style bathrooms, no showers, various community water faucets for carry back, RVs campers or tents. Must sleep on site first night.
