Betsey's Ole Country Store

Riding motos through the mountains we came across Betsey’s ‘ole Country Store. So glad we stopped because the chili dog really hit the spot and the conversation we had with Bruce Gray (the owner) was first rate entertainment (as long as you didn’t take his jabs too seriously!). This is mountain country hospitality at its finest. Bruce was more than happy to share some stories of his life and the stores history. A truly amazing stop down in the holler of Collettsville, NC. And the bathrooms were clean! I only hope that after this calamity of a storm it’s still with us as well as Bruce and the others who worked there. Prayers sent. 🙏

This Kuntry store nestled back in the mountains of NC is one of the most unique places In Wilson Creek...where else could y pull up on a motorcycle and Kim would have fresh home made 🍨 and fresh strawberries for free. Bruce the self proclaimed mayor was has all the history and information you could want about the area . A MUST stop if you're out doing nothing but enjoying life..

Great little store. Nice place to sit and relax or stretch your legs when riding through the mountains. They serve hot dogs all day when open and have a nice assortment of other snacks. Could use a little more room for parking, but they are at a large T intersection so if you are in that area you can not miss them! Definitely a good place to grab some food and drink if you are swimming in the river in the area or driving through the mountains!

The people and the place makes you feel like HOME! We rented the cabin behind the old country store & it was worth every penny! The hosts were extremely accommodating & we can't wait to return soon.

Fun stop. Owner was rocking out on the porch. He’s a character. they have food, although I don’t know I’d eat there.
