Best Western Rockland

Since no one on Expedia wanted to assist me and the hotel basically called me a LIAR….. I’ll share my experience here. I’ll start with this, the main stairs to access the room were blocked off with caution tape for water damage. Ok fine, it happens. We are told where our room is. Drive to the back of building, middle door, go upstairs take a left and we are the 3rd door from the end. Right across from our room is a very large window in the corner. For some added details, this hall is FREEZING! The carpet in front of our door is SOAKED and the windowsill, ceiling and glass are all covered in water and ice. But according to the hotel staff member that was spoken to I WAS LYING. Obviously not! I even took a video as proof. But HAHA there is no way to upload that on any contact channel!! Mov

Room 114 is in rough shape. After traveling all night my wife and I checked into it expecting a normal and clean room. Instead we were greeted with a strong musty and cigarette filled room. The sheets were pilled, there were stains on the pillows. There was a spider and a fly. The outlet cover was half falling off behind the tv. There was mold in the grout in the bathroom. This room was honestly terrible and we don’t even have high standards. Management should seriously consider bringing all rooms up to standard and investing more into this property if they want guests to return. Thankfully the second night Rodrigo moved us to room 205 which was much better and in line with expectations for a best western. Shoutout Rodrigo!

Positive: Location & staff making sure needs were met Negative: Needs refresh on sheets .… a little worn out. Had 2 beds so was able to switch to the better ones

I was passing through on a work trip. Beatriz was absolutely wonderful when she checked me in. We chatted a little and she helped me practice my Español. She felt like the Tia that I never had. The room was clean, shower hot, and bed comfortable.

The reviews about the febreeze weren't kidding. It's definitely a strong smell, but luckily its only the hallways that are like that. The rooms were fine. Very average experience here. Everything was just fine. Rooms were clean. Area seemed safe enough. Continental breakfast was basic but the waffles were good. The man who checked us in right before midnight on 9/22 was incredibly kind though. He was the best part of our time at the hotel. Give that man a raise or something!
