Best Western Poway/San Diego Hotel

Why do I do this to myself!!?? Was going to give more stars because the place just didn't fit my needs as a business traveler, but may be decent otherwise. However... this place really sucks!!! If you have any standards WHATSOEVER as a business traveler, DO NOT STAY HERE! It is an absolute joke! 1st night I got here, the TV didn't work... so I went back to the office. They came out and fixed the issue, and rather quickly. Tonight (2nd night), I sit here writing this review because the TV is not working again. I tried doing what they did last night, but it's not working. I tried calling the front desk with the phone in the room but it just gets a busy signal. There was no room service today... Not even sure they HAVE room service. They provide ONE bar of soap that has to be shared between t

Nicest Hotel in Downtown Poway||Of the two hotels in downtown Poway, this is the nicer one. The rooms are large and comfortable. Unfortunately you can hear everything going on in the room directly behind yours. I could hear the man behind me singing in the shower at 5am and snoring at night. At one point a couple got into an argument in the parking lot in the wee hours of the morning. But the hotel is pet friendly, even to the point of providing a pet run, which I have not seen before at any hotel. The staff was friendly but the maid failed to clean the room (a pet peeve of mine). I have stayed here before, and likely will again.

The hotel's location is convenient, situated about 20 minutes north of Downtown San Diego and the San Diego International Airport, making it easily accessible to various attractions. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my needs were met promptly. The complimentary breakfast offered a variety of options, including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles with toppings, yogurt, cereals, and breads, providing a good start to the day. While the hotel is a bit dated and could benefit from some updates, the overall experience was positive. The outdoor pool and sun deck provided a relaxing environment to unwind. If I could give it zero stars I would. We arrived and got to the first room and there was industrial fans blowing on the carpets, and the smell of chemicals could have got you high. Asked for a new room, SAME THING. Third room…. Guess what? Same thing. I mentioned I’m pregnant and said I’m not comfortable with how strong these chemical smells are and front desk said “well, I don’t go around sniffing every room” asked for a refund then told no managers are available for several days. Best Western. Do that right thing here. You’ve been contacted. Blood in the sheets! First off when I made my reservation I asked for a handicap accessible room, due to recent spine surgery. I am on a walker and can't lift my leg over a tub. When I checked in I asked if we had a handicap room, the gentlemen responded with "No and it's not actually really wheelchair accessible." Not wanting to argue about it i just too a room on the first floor, we dropped our bags and left immediately for an engagement. Upon return to our room I realized how dirty our room was. The carpets were completely stained, the AC cover was being held on by tape, dead bugs in the bathroom light fixture. I was exhausted and willing to look past this, until we turned the bed down to find the sheets were filthy and had blood not just on the fitted sheet but the flat sheet and blan
