Best Western Plus Thornburg Inn & Suites

Stayed at this place a few time during family road trips. It has good quiet and safe location away from the city. Good size lobby and driveway. Plenty of parking space. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit tight. Amenities and service is definitely on the mid to lower end range. Great free breakfast! The major pitfalls are very loud AC units & overall poor sound insulation making you wake up when AC turns on & hear all of your neighbors’ bathroom shenanigans - don’t forget your ear plugs. Good thing is a microwave. Price can go up 30% if you book right past midnight - so make sure you book online ahead of time. Overall a good budget option around here, and good availability given its size is definitely a pro.

Positive: Everything was orderly & clean. Staff was friendly. Negative: Construction outside, but they can't do a thing about that. Growth is going to happen.

Stopped in at his place at the recommendation of my niece on my way from SC to Ct. Thankful to her for finding this place as I did not know how far I would get before I had to stop and had NO reservation. I don't know if I was dead tired and just happy to find a place to rest or if it was really that good. The staff at the desk was welcoming. The bedding was so comfortable. Sheets were soft and warm, mattress was good and I even found a pillow I actually liked. Breakfast offered many options and had a lovely lady attending the breakfast area who even came around with warm pastries. I enjoyed my stay so much, I stopped there again on my way back and realized that it was just a great place and not an illusion because I was so darn tired on the way up. We booked these rooms for a family vacation to see historical sites. It was located perfectly for the places we wanted to visit and also had additional area's close by to accommodate a change in plans if needed. We arrived and were greeted by a very nice young man at the front desk and was checked into both our rooms rather quickly. Our rooms were lovely and exactly as pictured when I booked them. We stayed 5 nights and during our entire stay the common areas including the elevators and public bathrooms were spotless and smelled fresh and clean. Housekeeping and maintenance were always hard at work to maintain the cleanliness and it really showed. The breakfast area was very well maintained and the 2 women providing the breakfast service during our stay, were extremely helpful and attentiv

Driving to and from Connecticut to North Carolina always requires a hotel stay and in the southbound leg, assuming DC doesn't add his to our trip we always choose BW+ in Thornburg, VA. Convenient off I95, located minutes from very good italian and Mexican restaurants plus fast food it presents a great stop. Add the cleanliness of the room, the very nice swimming pool, and the nice breakfast and it is a perfect stop. We will always stay there when traffic allows.
