When you pull up to a hotel at midnight after driving for 17 hours, you're usually just praying they have a room...any room. My son and I left Naples, Florida at 8:30 in the morning with every intention of making it all the way home (a little North of Austin) in one shot. As we approached the Louisiana/Texas border we decided that sleeping for a few hours was a better plan. We pulled up in front of the Best Western at around midnight. 10 minutes later, we were in a clean, fresh smelling room with 2 queen beds. The night Manager was kind, efficient and understanding...even at Midnight. The room was comfortable, the sheets were clean (4 comfy pillows on each bed) and it was reasonably priced. We stuck a few things in the fridge and went to sleep. It was quiet over night so we slept w
Positive: It was close to several dining establishments. Negative: We booked this motel specifically for the pool. When we got there the pool was green and that it was swim at your own risk. There were multiple motels closer to where we we needed to have stayed but none of them had a pool we would not have stayed here.
Non-smoking room wreaked of smoke - this was not a one off it smelled like a smokers lounge as did the first floor hall. Mold or mildew smell beds were damp. Pictures advertised are NOT this hotel. Move on from this place, third hand smoke is extremely unhealthy.
I booked the stay for one reason and one reason only, the pool. I called on Wednesday and specifically asked if the pool was open and I was told yes. When I got there I asked the clerk, who had her little girl playing and pretending to be a clerk, about the GREEN pool and she said "well the chemicals are correct but it's swim at your own risk." The only reason I booked this motel was because of the pool. Very few motels or even hotels in the area have a pool. We ended up staying way farther away from where we needed to be. We could have stayed closer and gotten a much nicer hotel. Do better Best Western.
Booked a stay here for an out of town class, right next to a few fast food places, amazing staff, and the room was pretty comfy.
