Best Western Desert Inn

Full disclosure I manage an unrelated BW. While passing through Safford Az I had engine troubles, The BW Desert Inn accepted pets and there is a Big O tire shop close by that did a great job on my repair. Hotel room is recently updated, very nice bed, art and TV. I was greeted with a smile at check in, and pleased with the room rate and pet fee. Breakfast was on early and they were kind enough to sit with my senior dog while I grabbed the most important meal of the day. I was able to get on the road again and big thanks to the The Best Western Desert Inn.

If you're planning a trip to Safford, Arizona, especially for the Mt. Graham Hill Climb, the Best Western Desert Inn is a fantastic choice. Its central location puts you within walking distance of the town hall and a variety of local eateries, making it easy to explore the area. ||||The hotel's breakfast was satisfying, providing a good start to the day. The internet worked well, and the room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a queen suite, which was identical to the one we've had in previous years - a pleasant coincidence! While the rooms may be a bit dated, the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the second floor is nearly complete. The smell in the room was really off and the sheets were uncomfortable. Was really glad we were only there for one night. The price was pretty high for the low value. The one redeeming factor was a fantastic breakfast. The pancake and yogurt toppings were fantastic. The staff were all very friendly. Our shower wall was very off as well.

Positive: LOCATION Negative: THE TOILET WAS BACKED UP IN OUR ROOM & THE HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR CAME TO PLUNGE IT. SHE SAID IT HAD DONE IT THE DAY BEFORE, PRIOR TO THE PREVIOUS OCCUPANT CHECKING OUT. I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD MAINTENANCE CHECK IT OUT BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE CAME IN.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I was expecting a much better experience seeing as this hotel has 4.3 star reviews. It was dirty and the rooms stank. The only thing good I have to say is the gal at the front desk was very helpful when we asked to switch rooms when the first one we stepped into was nasty and smelly. The second room was equally dirty and smelled even worse. Very strong cigarette smell for not being a smoking room. Stains on the bed and the towels stank. Shower and bathroom we're grimy and the hair drawer had only one setting that worked. Will not be staying here ever again.
