Every time I stay here I say I never will again and then I forget and make the mistake of staying here again. There are bright lights outside and the curtains don’t close all the way so the light comes in all night. Air condition vibrates the whole room even in the winter when I don’t even have it on (maybe the neighbors do? 🤷♀️). Pillows are some of the most uncomfortable ever. Bathtub fills with water when taking a shower.
Positive: Very easy to check in and out. Located best shopping and dining Negative: A few rowdy guests too loud at 2 am.
The location is right off Hwy 395 with gas stations and restaurants conveniently nearby. The front desk and breakfast room staff were welcoming and kind.|The Best Western Bishop is a very tired property in need of remodeling; our room had that old musty smell. However, our room (in the back building) was quiet, very clean and the bed and bedding was very comfortable. |The breakfast was worth skipping - there are several cafes right around the hotel that would be better. They need to up the quality of the food they bring in. The “breakfast lady” was very pleasant.|I understand from management that a remodel is coming in the very near future.
The pluses - Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, easy parking, very capable and friendly gentleman working the afternoon/evening shifts at the front desk. The downsides: Lack of attention to detail by housekeeping (our first room's shampoo was "blocked", our second room was missing bodywash and hand-soap). Also while some parts of the rooms seem to have been updated (nice light fixtures, easy places to plug in gadgets), other parts are old. The couch chairs in our suite were stained so badly I asked for sheets to cover them.
We stayed there one night ago on way home from trip to Death Valley. Location is good, within walking distance to restaurants and park. The place is not my cup of tea. It reminded me of a prison with the bars on all the hallways. The first thing that made me cringe was walking up the stairs to our room #212. The stairs were filthy looking, strips of nonslip adhesive peeling off and it was just grimy. At the top of the landing the barriers were just dirty and covered with grime. The AC unit was noisy and you can’t open your window due to people walking by. Room was clean, and had mini fridge, TV. Breakfast was same generic hotel food, we ate elsewhere. This hotel will not be my selection again when going to Bishop. Some really sketchy people staying there vaping pot in parking lot also
