Benezett Store Campground

If you haven't seen Elk in Pennsylvania, this is a great Campground. The Elk come right into the Campground. Nice bathrooms and 5 minutes to the visitor center.

Absolutely loved this campground. Close proximity to Elk viewing sites. Water and Electric hookups only no full hook ups and that's ok since we knew what to expect. They will have water available but not at the sites. One end of the campground is open field so you bake in the sun all day, other end has alot of trees for shade but many are nut trees so you get bombarded with falling nuts. Owners very friendly. Each site has a small pavilion which is great. And a small creek runs along the grounds so you could fish. Most every morning we heard an elk bugling in the distant somewhere. Not alot for kids to do which for us was fine...kind of an adult campground (peace and quiet). Only negative I would have to say and a big one because you are in the middle of nowhere, no cell service

We’ve been there 4 years in a row for Elk. We love this campground for the space, the shelters, and the friendly staff and owners. They do their best to keep up on the maintenance and cleaning. No complaints from us. Beautiful scenery every direction you turn. Call ahead for reservations!

We averaged $37 / night for E50. This is a very basic campground in a beautiful area of PA. The site was spacious, sunny, grass back in and very level. Roads within the campground were easy to navigate. There is water available to fill your tank when entering and a dump station as you exit. The plug on our electric hookup was broken as it appears a recent user of the site pulled out without unplugging. It is over priced for an electric only grass site but is very convenient to Benezette. We were in the area to see the elk in rut. They are wonderful animals, especially the males with huge racks. The best time to see them is two hours before sunset and two hours after sunrise. The best viewing is not at the designated viewing sites but rather open fields along the road.

New owner in the past 1-2 years. Very clean, well maintained, spacious, open sky for star-gazing or watching the elk!
