Beech Mountain Ski Resort

My favorite place to snowboard, it located up the mountain has fresh snow/pow, during the day the lines get busy, evenings are perfect low key but colder for sure. The machines for ordering the lift tickets ahead didn't work so everyone stayed in one line, the tubing was fun, the tubing is every 2 hours, and you tube for 1.5 hours! I haven't been skiing in forever, and because our holiday cruise fell through, we chose to do a ski trip that was within driving distance to Atlanta, GA. Little did I know, or maybe I just forgot, that my girlfriend frequented ski resorts growing up, but hasn't been in over a decade. Having done extensive research, I chose Beech Mountain. This is a resort town and the surrounding areas felt like we weren't in the U.S. The quaint village was so welcoming and relaxing and it was amazing to hear several different languages at this resort - Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and more. We arrived after it had snowed so it was the perfect winter escape. I recommend renting your equipment, if you don't already have yours. The mountains at Beech Mountain Resort, rising over 5,000 feet, are absolutely breathtaking. The views alone make the trip worth it — endless layers of mountains, crisp air, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming. You see people genuinely enjoying the moment: families and friends playing in the snow, skiers and snowboarders winding down after a run, and groups gathering to enjoy a few drinks. It feels lively without being overwhelming. One highlight is the Beech Mountain Craft Brewery, which is excellent. Their artisan beers are the perfect way to warm up after being out in the cold — flavorful, well-crafted, and a great complement to the mountain vibe. Great ski resort! Huge area with lots of things to do! Every employee I spoke with has been very helpful and friendly. We spent all day here today and we have 2 more days left. There's a rental area for skis or snowboards and snack bar also. Bunny slopes to start and every other type of slopes when you're ready are all here. The roads up here were very difficult and it had snowed heavy the day before, but the main roads up were pretty cleared from the snow plows and salt trucks. But be prepared for some big elevation gains on the way up! Would definitely recommend this ski resort! We've done Appalachian Ski Mountain before and this one is way bigger!

I went with my friends for our first time skiing, and we really enjoyed it. It was my first time skiing , and I had an amazing time. Getting our skies and boots was quick and easy. It could be a bit more organized with the number of people skiing and snowboarding at the same time, but overall it was a great experience.
