Bearcat Getaway

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. For a week prior to our trip I was constantly playing phone tag, leaving a message saying I wanted to reserve one primitive campsite and saying what timeframes I’d be available for a return call, the call always came outside the windows I’d give, which isn’t the biggest deal but was just the beginning of an awful experience.||I finally got ahold of the office on the day that we were heading out there to camp. I told her we needed the one site and I’m ready to pay, she then said we would just take care of it when we got there, and kept avoiding talking about cost to camp. Only to get there at 9:30 PM and find out it’s $40 per person per night, where there was no events or live music on the nights we were staying, Almost every campsite I’ve ever been

Camp sites, roads, restrooms and shower houses maintained well. I didn't use bug spray and didn't get bit. Our site was a few minutes walk to the Black River who's water is clear to the bottom in so many places. Gravel bar beach offers excellent night sky view. Staff is friendly and helpful, even gave us ride when we had a flat tire. We love camping there, especially when there's a good show. Good options for nature lovers and party people too! Love it!

Smaller camp sites but great river area to play at. Would be great with another set of bathroom/shower house at the other end of the campground. We enjoyed the concert after the float trip. Even with the party vibe, the campground wasn't overly crowded or loud. We'll be back.

The staff and people were very friendly. I will definitely be back. Their stage for concerts is close to the front of the campgrounds which makes it ideal for everyone no matter where you camp inside bear cat. Clean bathrooms and shower houses were available for use day and night and the river is amazing. Absolutely beautiful.

Might not have the most updated amenities but it’s an absolute classic! Great for the laid back folks that want a spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Good bands, good people, just out of cell service so you can fully relax. Quick drive to Lenny’s to get service
