Bear Trap Lodge

What a cool place for events! I delivered food here for a wedding reception and I was immediately impressed by the scenery! A cute place tucked back in between some Aspen's and, I think, Douglas firs. The driveway is a small challenge to find when heading east, so if you pass it, no big deal because westbound you can't miss it. The kitchen has a nice flow, which was great for my catering; plenty of counter-space with a sturdy island in the middle. Definitely somewhere I would rent out for future events!

We stayed at this cabin recently for a family reunion. At first glance it looked OK, but rather quickly I realized the cabin is very well worn. It is in need of some serious renovations to make it a desirable place to stay. The beds were very uncomfortable and squeaky. Me wife slept so poorly it gave her a migraine and she had to leave the reunion early. Also because the cabin is so close to the main road you hear constant road noise that makes you feel you are on State Street rather than a quiet mountain retreat. I would not recommend this cabin.

Spacious gathering areas! Several lights that don't work, nails jutting out of door frames, two of three area fans that did not work, spindle in railing that overlooks great room held together with duct tape, handle for shower head fell off, carpet tack strip exposed and easy to trip on, raised strip in basement hallway to trip on, ceiling fan/light fixture came loose and was hanging by wires (owner said it has happened before), light switch with no cover plate. Glad we brought some of our own fans because it was hot. Large box full of hotel size hair conditioner but no shampoo, no hotel size bars of soap. Glad we brought our own. Plenty of dish and dishwasher soap, bathroom tissue, paper towels, and garbage bags. We had a great time with 24 grandchildren.

Awesome! Beautiful views in all directions, right on the hillside overlooking the main highway. (could be a little bit quieter lot of traffic but still beautiful.) awesome building . great architecture. multiple levels with many utilities and great bedrooms.

My family has been lucky enough to spend Christmas at the Beartrap Lodge many times over the last 30 years. We've seen the cabin progress, develop, and improve. We hope it never outgrows it's amazing mountain cabin feel and presence. There are too many empty mountain mansions overpriced and underused by the ultra rich. Beartrap maintains a level of affordability while still providing Viking stoves, Sub Zero fridges, new couches, top tier hot tub and sauna, and other fun amenities. Beartap has been the setting for thousands of families to re-connect, recreate, and rejoice. It is unique and wonderful. And all my cousins agree - our favorite memories of our entire lives took place at Beartrap Lodge.
