Baymont by Wyndham Flat Rock

I travel through this area a lot and have stayed at a lot of the hotels in the area. I found this place a couple months ago and it is very clean and safe. Best hotel I've stayed at and the rates are very reasonable considering some of the other hotels in the Detroit area I've payed far more for far less this will be my first choice anytime im in the area hands down. Very thankful for the very courteous and hospitable staff.

Positive: "" Negative: The TV cable box was dangling behind the tv and there was a shortage in the cord. Once in a while the tv would stop working. There was no soaps in the bathroom dispensers. Thankfully, I had brought my own items.

Good location. Breakfast was decent. Staff was helpful and friendly. Price was reasonable. I appreciated the complimentary shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. When the people in the room above me were making loud noises the staff went and talked to them. Carpet and furniture outdated. Internet would go out regularly and I was using my computer for work for two days so that was frustrating. And most importantly, the back door lock was broke and anyone could have walked in (didn’t need a key), it just swung open. I was told the owner knew about it and was going to get it fixed. I checked in Oct. 16 and left Oct 19 and it still wasn’t fixed. This was a very concerning safety issue. I probably won’t stay there again.

Unfortunately , this time wasn't as pleasant as usual. The pool was cold because people had doors propped up. The pool area has green mold around walls and floors and bugs dead all around it and smashed on walls and windows. Staff was pleasant and professional. Room was clean. Breakfast was fine.

Great staff, family friendly, great breakfast and nice pool. Some areas could be cleaner. Rooms could use a refresh. I would stay there again.
