Do Not Stay Here – Worst Experience Ever! I booked Base Camp 151 in June 2025 for a three-night stay in August. The booking clearly stated my credit card would be charged upon arrival. Instead, weeks before my stay, I received an email saying the property was under new management and I’d have to rebook. At that point, my credit card got charged. When I replied that I wasn’t going to pay twice, they instructed me to “just rebook and then dispute the first charge with your credit card company.” In other words, they knowingly double-charged customers. According to one of their own emails, the owners never actually changed — just the management company name. This shady loophole allowed them to double charge unsuspecting guests. Basecamp 151 is an great place to stay, especially if you're visiting wineries/breweries/cideries around Charlottesville, VA. It's modern, fresh, & our room was spacious, clean, & had the amenities we expected. There's a nice common area with coffee bar. Their website is the best B&B-type website I've ever used. I highly recommend this location!

Outstanding service. Representatives are VERY helpful. Spotlessly clean. Is not luxurious, and that is not expected. But it has everything one needs and the pillows and bed are VERY comfortable. Very good location. An excellent place to stay and enjoy the surrounding area. Absolutely recommend and we will definitely be staying again when in the Wintergreen area, which we do 4-6 times a year.

The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable and the location is convenient. They have removed all k-cup makers from the rooms even though the description of the rooms still says coffee service and shows in the pictures k-cup makers with k-cups. We were told we can get coffee from the onsite coffee shop crucible. However, you are only allowed one drip coffee per day, we drink more. The coffee shop is only open wed-sun and during our stay on Sunday they never showed up. I would strongly suggest either updating the room descriptions or better yet putting the k-cup makers back in the rooms.

The room I had was very large the bathroom had a handicap shower with great hot water. Everything was new, clean and attractive. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Nice commons area. The bathroom could have used its own heater. The main heater - set it and wait for it to come on. WiFi is good. People great. I would stay again.
