Bandit's Hideaway

Bandit's Hideaway, Wimberley, Texas||March 14th, 2011||||Small clean cottage with kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen equipped with stove, small fridge with ice-cube tray freezer, coffee maker and microwave. Towels, linens and hairdryer provided. Shower nozzle is very high up--would have been nice to have a hand held shower. Comfortable bed with good quality sheets and pretty quilt.||||No view from cottage, and not very private if you want to sit on patio since it is so close to the loft rental next to it and the neighboring house, but can walk past the owner's house down to Blanco river and sit on bench swing which we found to be a beautiful quiet spot to watch the deer and listen to the bubbling water, chatty frogs and wild turkeys. The water was low when we were there--could walk across it.

Needs a few updates in the unit (furniture, appliances, AC unit and bedding). The location is nice and located right off the Blanco River which runs behind the property. The landlord is older and lives on the property so she request you stay quiet. No fire pit but she has a grille that is available.

We chose this cabin on the internet as it looked cute, had a good price and was kid friendly. We were a little taken back when we got there because there was very little water in the river and we were extremely close to the neighbor cottage and the owner's property. But it turned out to be a very clean comfortable cabin, it was very quiet, and despite the lack of water, very relaxing. Wimberly has a lot to offer adults, the kids liked swimming at the Blue Hole and loved the new Wimberly zip line adventure. Plus it is a quick trip to San Marcus or New Braunfels to Schlitterbaun and tubing without staying at places that have a lot of drinking and partying going on. I was a bit nervous when I saw window units but they worked well and weren't noisy. The deck had a great view of the countryside and was perfect for star gazing. The loft was not on the river but it was a short walk through the yard behind the owner's house. About 2 minute drive to the main shopping/dining area of Wimberley. It's a fantastic get away!

Great place to relax on the Blanco River. Easy access to Wimberley square, Blue Hole, and area locations. The owner is very accommodating. The Loft had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Felt like home.
