Bahia Honda is one of the most beautiful state parks in Florida. We camped at the BTWC loop for three nights. The park as a whole is beautiful. However the campground bathroom facilities are not well maintained and cleaned which is a shame as I’m sure there are many people that want to volunteer as hosts who would do a better Job maintaining the facilities.
The park is beautiful. I would bring something to help with the noseeums if I were to come again. The prices were great. We stayed at Sandspur one night and then Buttonwood for 3 nights. The only negative was that the park rangers were rude at every interaction. They always seemed really pissed off. One of them was riding his golf cart around the campsite one morning at full speed and almost tipped over going around a turn. One of them was complaining when I checked in at 4:30p that he wanted to go home on time since they close at 5p. I could go on and on about how they made the stay less enjoyable really.
Well, I guess to visit the southern keys it is a good place. Some Sites are quite small. The sides in Sunburn beach are perfect. But we stayed on the other side. The bathrooms and showers are terrible. The worst I have Seen for a Long time. And the noise from the bridge is really bad. Even at night it is very disturbing.
Cabin and park are the best in Florida and maybe the country. Two nights in cabin three. Spent days on sandspur beach, rode our e-biked, had dinner in Key West. Great time.
This park was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The beaches had crystal-clear water and plenty to explore. We stayed in the Buttonwood campground, site 1, with our RV. The campsites were well-kept, and while it wasn’t a site by the water, it was still wonderful! Under the nearby bridge, we saw so much marine life from snook and a shark to tons of crabs, small fish, and even lobsters. The bathrooms were okay and cleaned regularly, but the showers could use some improvements. The small stall didn’t have a bench to put your items on (unlike the handicap stall), although both did have hooks for hanging things. We've seen better shower setups at other state parks, but it wasn't a deal-breaker, as it was still able to be used and functioned well. The park rangers were all incredibly friendly and helpful, wh
