Aspen Lodge of Red River, NM

I and my dogs just returned home from a 10-day stay in La Dama Sombra. It was GREAT! I've read previous reviews that the beds were "mush" and "rock hard", but that was not my experience. I slept like a rock every night! The cabin was very clean and well-appointed. I also noted previous reviews about the mini blinds in the master not being a match for the lights on the fire station, but there are blackout curtains on the windows now. Having the stackable washer and dryer in the cabin was an extra bonus, and my little dogs loved being able to run and play in the fenced yard. Jana, the owner, was great! She met me as soon as I arrived and gave me a tour of the cabin. This will be my go-to place of lodging whenever I travel to Red River!

Just got back from Red River where we stayed 3 nights at Aspen Lodge. The room was horrible and had a terrible odor that would not go away even after keeping the door open for an hour. The room was tiny as well as the bathroom. There was barely enough space to even sit to use the restroom! You have to clean your own room, take out your own trash, and change your towels or they will charge you an extra 25.00 fee. I will never stay here again!

This duplex cabin was very clean and roomy. I enjoyed the sun roof in the back bedroom, and the jacuzzi tub was great. The deck was nice; however, the view left much to be desired. Having a washer and dryer was handy, and free wi-fi a plus. I would stay here again. Good value, overall.

We had a great stay! Jana, the owner greeted us as we arrived, and gave us a tour of our cabin. We found it well furnished, and very clean. We especially enjoyed the back deck. Very conveniently located within walking distance to all the places we enjoy in Red River. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed here in the Casa de Rio Rojo for a spring break trip so our 18 year olds could ski. Great location, walking distance to everything. Nice place, owner Jana is very nice and accommodating. We travel with a small dog and she happily allowed her here. We’ll definitely keep Aspen Lodge on our list of places to stay again.
