Americas Best Value Inn Biddeford Portland

I arrived super late, at 5:30 AM due to car trouble. The staff is just a couple of people who sleep onsite. I was worried they might not check me in, but they got right up and helped me out without complaints. I appreciate that. The room was clean and had a fridge and microwave, not something most cheap hotels can say. The walls were thin and the AC unit was dated but not a big deal. I slept right until check-out time without being disturbed. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they didn't have a late check out. I would have happily paid $10-20 for an hour or two of extra sleep. Something to consider in the future. Overall, thank you for your hospitality!

Upon reaching the property and taking one look at it I immediately wanted to change my stay to one night. I requested that of the from office and was rudely told no. Upon a sleepless night- curtains did nothing to block out the bright outside light which shined directly on the bed, a loud wall heater kicked in randomly waking me up as the room vacillated between freezing cold and boiling hot. Also my room was by the stairs and I could hear people banging their luggage up and down when I was trying to sleep. Simple maintenance is also neglected as the paint in the bathroom was peeling off the walls - see photo. I would not choose to stay here if you are looking for a place to actually sleep.

To start, the hotel was in relatively good condition. The room was very clean, the beds were made neatly, and the only imperfection was a piece of tape on the bathroom doorframe, but that does no damage. The shower features a cool disco light which surprised us happily. The service was also excellent, as we were checked in and out easily and with a smiling face. The one issue that really bothered us was the lack of isolation in the ceiling.When we were trying to sleep, people were moving upstairs and it was very loud for us.

The management is difficult and very rude. I've never stayed in an establishment where they loom over you. If you like your belongings gone through when you leave then by all means stay there I've lived in Las Vegas and the dives there at least stayed out of your stuff. Will never give that place my business. It puts a black eye on ALL America Best. Tsk tsk
