Amber Sands Resort

The previous negative reviews are accurate. The owner likes to yell and scream at you (age has no bounds, young or old, with the frequent use of the "F" word). Not appreciated. They have ZERO renter etiquette. They mow the lawn frequently and it doesn't matter if during meals outside or when you are trying to converse with someone. Every other place does this in-between renters so as to not disturb vacationers. This I think is the worst atrocity - they walk right by your windows and look in!!!! I was in my bedroom and they were right in front of my window!!!! I watched them look in windows as they walked very close to cabins (it is a big area, absolutely no reason to be close to cabins). Perfect little get away. Who ever posted and complained.. Shame on you. The host are wonderful. Each cabin has flower beds surrounding the cabins. The cabin we stayed in was well maintained. 70's decor a lil bit. Who cares lol. We were right on the lake. With usage to their boats as long as we brought a boat motor. They also let you use their life jackets if needed. Absolutely adorable cabins. We will be returning again this summer for sure. ❤

Stayed in cabin 6 for a week. Floor is not level so I felt like I was drunk wobbling around the cabin. Worst thing we can say is it was very dirty. Spent over a day cleaning it. Lots of hot water, bleach, soft scrub, etc. Afternoon sun boils the place. Can't do anything about that. Nice owners but if you stay here do what we did - plan to clean it, bring all your own bedding, towels, pillows, and coffee pot/toaster and rugs. No modernization in decades.

I just stayed here for a weekend. The cottage was cozy. The scenery was beautiful. They had the wood stove fired up when we got there, so it was warm and welcoming. This resort is right in the middle of several wineries. And it was priced cheaper than anything around. We will be back for sure. Highly recommended! Update: just stayed here again this weekend. While we were out on the dock late at night, listening to the waves, watching the moonlight bounce on the water, and sharing some good conversation...unaware that anyone could even hear us out there- we were not being rowdy at all! The owner came out, and where he should have politely asked us to go inside for quiet time...he immediately started yelling, swearing, calling us rude and loud. He was completely out of line. He

Perfect place in a perfect location. Friendly owners. great views, cozy cabins, boat protecting boat dock,great play area for kids with a sand box. I could go on and on! Try it and you’ll love it.
