Aloft Waukee

Well I was initially surprised at how low the rates were here, when I arrived the only cars in the parking lot were employee cars. Once I got inside I'm pretty sure I understand why, while this property is immaculately clean and rooms were spectacular. Service is extremely lacking here, front desk knows it all and can never be wrong, gm ignores her phone when booking platform trys to call about an issue with her staffs ignorance. Thank God I've got excellent support with the platform I use for booking, front desks lack of ability of basic customer service skills earned me a 10 dollar Starbucks card and 55 dollar credit towards future bookings. Pretty sure only travelers stay here and that's why it's so empty, locals likely know better.

Matthew and Amanda go above and beyond to ensure their guests are well taken care of. They both took the time to have a conversation with an old lady like myself, and we shared a few laughs. Great recommendation to a local place to eat. Our stay was memorable to say the least. The hotel is new and kept very clean. Thank you again Matthew and Amanda!

It’s 5:30 in the morning and I have to listen to the night clerks cartoons and music blaring. |My husband is asleep and he tells me to make coffee in my room. |I had this problem when I stayed in June. |This is really more of a low level hotel. ||I heard no music in this lobby during the day. Why can’t you have peace and quiet at 5:30 in the morning? |I really don’t like to be talked back to by the night shift when I well know they could turn the music off. ||The day shift crew is awesome. The room is fine and clean.

Night shift staff are EXTREMELY rude. They serve alcohol at the bar in their lobby but prohibit you to drink your own alcohol in the lobby. Which is honestly the least of our concerns from our stay. Our group was addressed about the alcohol in the most outlandish way. The bartender, whom we failed to get her name, called her manager on FaceTime and brought her phone over to someone in our group and said “talk.” Which is by far the rudest and most unorthodox way to address a situation. Nobody in our group argued with either woman. Yet, we sat back and watched MULTIPLE other people in the lobby, with their own alcohol. There was specifically a group of 4 men with a bottle of opened bourbon on their table in plain view of the bartender. They were not addressed. Nor was anybody else in the lob

We chose this hotel for two reasons. First, I stayed at an Aloft hotel in Ft Lauderdale and had a wonderful experience with their front desk, with the room, and with the way the run their hotel. Second reason, the Aloft hotel in Waukee is a parking lot away from the Vibrant Music Hall so it was extremely convenient to walk to the show we were attending. The room we stayed in was two queen beds. The set up of the room feels modern and is open concept. The beds and shower/vanity is separated by a partial partition wall. The toilet is shut off with sliding wooden doors, from the shower and vanity. The beds are extremely comfortable. There is a small rug that is under the first bed but the rest of the floor is wood style laminate. There is a little booth style seating area with a table
