Adventure River Resort

Paid $156 for this overpriced room in the middle of December. Our room was #2 in the lodge. It had stains on the carpet and you can hear everything outside your door. This wasn't even during the crazy busy season. There was no TV reception. Asked about it, the guy said he'd get us an Internet TV bc they'd "had it out with Dish the day before." Asked about the TV later and the female owner knocked on our door and wanted us to leave at 9 pm! I refused to leave at that time of night. We are in our 60s and we were not loud or did we cause a scene. I had thought we'd put up family here during the August ride...but H no!

There was a pungent smell of dog poop and urine that we had to walk through every time we went to our cabin. One door wouldn’t even latch until I fixed it and the key didn’t even work on the left door. The fans were dirty and throwing dust around when we turned them on. There were spider webs/cob webs above both loft beds. Windows were full of dead gnats and some dead ones on the pillows until we cleaned them. (My mother-in-law cleaned it all) There were no trash bags in trash cans, Mold on freezer door seal, and a Tobacco can under futon. The doors that are supposed to divide the rooms, couldn’t even close all the way so they were pretty much pointless. However, the beds were comfy, and there was plenty of room. You do have a nice river view, but if you are using your own kayaks/canoe

The rooms were relatively clean, and were about what we expected. However, one of the cabins had absolutely no hot water at all for two days, which we didn't even complain about during our stay. I have never written a review at all, but what prompted me to finally post this is my attempt to get back an Apple watch that was left in the room. I have spoken multiple times with the owner. I did as requested and sent a pre-paid envelope so the watch could be mailed back to me. It never happened despite her saying she would take care of it. I also offered to Venmo her whatever amount is needed to mail the watch back, as I live three hours away. Our stay was wonderful! The room was spotless and comfortable. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful with local recommendations. The location was perfect for sightseeing. We will definitely stay here again.

This east a cute little cabin for a couple of nights to get away. River view, small rock beach, 2 double beds, single shower, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot included. Small window unit air conditioner, cooled the room great, got cold and needed extra blanket even..lol
