We tried driving a jeep to see this location. Unfortunately every dirt trail to the tent camp that you can find on google maps has been chained shut by the land owner - Molokai Ranch. We tried to find trails that could've lead from Dixie Maru and when that failed tried driving via Maunaloa. In both cases the roads were chained shut. You'll have to hike to see this place unless the roads are ever opened.

The abandoned tent camping isn't an attraction to justify the hike. Instead I would recommend going past the tent camp on the trail parallel to the shore to the point. It's twice as far as the tent camp. You will know you got to the point when you find a beached broken boat. Also explore the tide pools along the way.

Can be reached either by 4x4 or via hiking 30 mins south of Dixie Maru. It definitely is an abandoned tent camp. Most tent structures now fallen apart and being reclaimed by nature. The place feels wild and ghostly.

Looks like the set for a post-apocalyptic movie. Deteriorating platforms for the tents, exposed wiring. Interesting that each tent platform is set up with its own shower stall and toilet (now mostly destroyed) and the toilets were all composting toilets. The beach is nice and there is a shower which still functions.

This was the best place we ever camped. We had the beach to ourselves and a little restaurant that served us. We went in 2007. So sorry to see it gone.
