A Place At the Beach - Windy Hill

Stayed during Thanksgiving weekend 2025, discovered bedbugs. I was disappointed as anyone would be and found it unacceptable however, not knowing if it came from (recent) attendees at the property or poor upkeep and evaluation of the property. They did accommodate immediately by moving us to a different room on a different floor. Please check your room for this potential pest so that they be left where and if you discoverer them.

The whole place just needs an upgrade. 3 bedroom unit had a muggy smell, mold in a few areas and furniture was dirty and grimy looking. The walls in the bathrooms around the toilet were disgusting. We had to go out and buy air fresheners and wet wipes for our stay. Location is ok if you have a vehicle. Beach and ocean are right in your backyard which increased my rating.

The location is on the beach. The pool was very tiny and not heated, but the hot tub was OK. The garbage cans were across the street in the parking lot that I didn’t like. The kitchen is very tiny and if you are a plus size family, this will not work. I feel pest control was needed due to all the tiny bugs and gnats flying trying to attack you while you sit by the pool. you could not leave your slide glass door open for even a second without the tiny flying insect coming for your head. In the recreation room there wasn’t many activities to keep your young ones attention. The only part that was OK was the cleanliness of the unit.

The hotel room appeared clean at first glance; however, there were bugs present, particularly in the kitchen area. This raised concerns about cleanliness and overall hygiene during the stay.

Sad to see a property with so much potential go under. The location is stunning, the room quality was so horrible, we stayed only one night and the thought of sleeping in that bed was so dreadful, we packed up and left.
