2nd Pines Campsite

Probably one of the best campgrounds I've been to. Walk-in, no other people on a summer weekend, shaded with a fire pit and right next to the river. Small bats at night clear most of the bugs, milky way with a meteor shower at 1am, and plenty of space for multiple tents and hammocks. Pack-in pack-out and respect the space

A well shaded campground right next to the Upper Kings River. I suspect it's a walk-in campground only with no reservations. I was day hiking here with my dog and stopped here to rest. We had the entire campsite to ourselves despite it being on a weekend. The campground has several tall pines which provided the both of us with much welcomed shade and a respite from the warm weather. I hung my hammock here and relaxed for a while, eventually falling to sleep while being serenaded by the Kings. This campground is clean and scenic.
