1812 House

What a perfect stay my daughter and I had at the 1812 House! This charming bed and breakfast truly offers a quintessential experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast and found the beds incredibly comfortable. With plenty of inviting spaces to relax both indoors and outdoors, it's an ideal spot for anyone visiting the area. A big thank you to the owners, Chris and Sheila, for their wonderful hospitality!

We were planning a trip to visit grandson in the Ottawa area and then spend a few days in Cooperstown before heading home. Lowville was the logical place to stop for an evening, and the 1812 House had great appeal. It did not disappoint! ||Innkeepers Chris and Sheila saved a local landmark and have made it into a lovely B&B. While we stayed in the Griffith Room, any of the five rooms, all on the second level with ensuites and king beds, would afford a great night's sleep. Breakfast was very pleasant and filling as well.||Lowville might be a little out of the way for some, but the 1812 House can make it worth your while. Hopefully, our travels will send us that way again so we can enjoy another stay at the 1812 House.

My baby sister just had her wedding here, and it was the best one I have ever attended, including my own!! The hosts were gracious and patient, the venue was just perfect. Clean, cozy, interesting historical pieces throughout, and beautiful. The food was excellent- not one complaint, but rather loads of “Oh!, That’s fabulous” or “ This is delicious!” Family photos were just beautiful around, and in the home. I’m positive they will be loved by our two families. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Who else can make a potentially stressful event into a fun, relaxing, memorable treasure?!? Chris and Sheila can!

The 1812 House was the venue for our daughter’s intimate wedding this December. I cannot say enough about how happy we are with our choice. The accommodations were beautiful and extremely comfortable, the food was delicious, and the host was friendly, accommodating, and attended to every detail. The wedding felt elegant and special, but we were comfortable, relaxed, and present throughout. It was a spectacular day, and one we will remember forever. Thank you to the Buckinghams and 1812 house staff for helping create a perfect wedding.

1812 House hosted my daughter’s wedding this past Wknd. Everything was perfect! The rooms were very well appointed and beautiful, no details overlooked.Clean, comfy and tastefully decorated with period furnishings. Pre dinner appetizers were spot on and beautifully presented. The prime rib dinner was outstanding! One of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few. Chris, Sheila and their staff went above and beyond making the whole event exactly as my daughter and now husband envisioned their perfect wedding. Thankyou again for a most memorable time.
