My son and I had a great time with our roof top camper, there was plenty of space and a quiet atmosphere. The check in process was very easy and Nice personally welcomed us. The showers were great and hot. There were plenty of power points. So, when we are back on Kauai from far away Europe, we will definitely stay longer. Mahalo.

We loved Camp Naue! The couple who run it were very friendly and easy to communicate with via text and email. They are strict about the rules and we really appreciated that. The bunkhouses back up to the beach so you hear the surf all night long! Sitting out on the beach at night behind the bunkhouses was amazing - we had a new moon so the Milky Way was incredible, the surf glowed with bioluminescence, and we were even treated to a lightning storm at sea one night! We will definitely stay here again!

We payed $40/person/night too enjoy a tent site at this beautiful property. It generally caters to large groups (like church camps). We used the pavilion, bathrooms, wifi, and parking. There are other structures for large groups like a kitchen/dining hall. The bathrooms have solar heated showers, for us on only rainy and cloudy days this meant the water was mostly tepid with a warm burst.

As others had said, not really a functional campground. Must email 48-72 hours in advance of staying, to a email address not even listed on their website. No phone correspondence - just email and text customer service vibes as cold as a border security patrol agency, but the owners will soften their condescending passive aggressive replies with “mahalo” to make it seem okay. Requires on site check in at 6pm to review the complex process of choosing a spot in a field to sleep, but it’s not good enough if you’re there, as the site is unattended and you have to inform the owners 2 days in advance that you respectfully request them to operate as the business they claim to offer. If your idea of camping is as spontaneous as booking a colonoscopy appointment then have at it - but I’d suggest

We originally planned to camp at Anahola Beach for one night and Anini Beach for three, but as a mom traveling alone with my 11-year-old, I didn’t feel safe at either. Thankfully, we found YMCA Camp Naue — and it ended up being the best camping spot on the island. They mostly host groups on weekends and holidays and are usually closed to individual campers during those times, but we had no problem booking during the week. It’s not the cheapest option if you have a larger party as you pay per person, but for just the two of us, it was worth every penny. The campground is right on a stunning beach, with easy access to Tunnels Beach, Hanalei, and the Kalalau Trailhead for the Nā Pali Coast hike. We stayed the first week of October 2 nights and it was peaceful — just us and one-two other cou
