Yellow Barn Estate

We were in the same college reunion group as the previous reviewer and couldn’t agree more that the Yellow Barn B&B was a delightful place to stay. Liliane and Dick treated us as if we were family and cocktails on the deck around the firepit was a highlight of our stay. The location backing up to a state forest was beautiful, especially with the fall foliage in almost full color. We stayed for four nights and found ourselves continually admiring the details of Dick’s construction handiwork in every room of the building. Our room, with a queen bed and its own bathroom with a tub/shower, was very comfortable and cozy. None of the four rooms have a television but that was just fine with us. We had a wonderful experience—the layout, the other guests, and the location near Ithaca were perfect for my daughter and me. I can’t say enough about the beautiful rooms, grounds, and common areas! I would love to return, though better communication would have made the stay even smoother. The only issues we encountered were receiving two different checkout times, which led to a rushed last morning, as the owners strongly encouraged the earlier time. Additionally, we were charged twice, and while we did eventually receive a refund, it took some time. It was explained that the confusion with the checkout times and double charge stemmed from the Expedia reservation, but the situation could have been handled more efficiently to allow us to fully enjoy our stay. I stayed in one night for son's graduation. The house is very cozy, room and service are good and modern. There is one big family to occupy the rest of rooms in the house for graduation. They are nice people. But there is no privacy in the rooms as I can hear very single word in my room one the second floor when the family chat loud in the living room of first floor. I had very early flight so went to bed around 11pm and could not fallen sleep until they finally stopped chat after midnight.

We stayed here for one night while visiting family in Ithaca. Very well appointed rooms, easy check in and check out, and very quiet. This would be a great place for a family to rent out the entire place. It’s a bit out of the way, but perfect if you’re in the area.

While in the area for our college reunion, my friends and I stayed at the Yellow Barn B&B. What a delightful place! The inn is a post and beam structure constructed almost single-handedly by our host, Dick, and is completely lovely, with 3 decks overlooking the woods and the distant hills. The four rooms in the inn are large and comfortable, each with its own full bath. Wi fi is free. We had cocktails one evening outside on one of the decks. Dick had built a fire in the deck's fire pit and we watched the woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, finches, and other birds eating at the birdfeeders.
