Great lil spot! Clean and friendly, nice camp areas with running water on the lots, each with fire pits, tent pads and a picnic table. Lots of wood available to cut for a fire and beautiful views of the lake. I would recommend packing bug spray though! Also, there's volleyball and basketball areas so bring a ball!! :)
We had fun! Free to get in. Free WIFI! There’s space to kayak, a swimming area roped off, fishing is good, several people camping (tents), and family friendly. The water is dark and murky —so didn’t swim. There’s sand in the swimming area and kids were having a ball. Bathrooms. Trails. Kayak kiosk. Cell reception is spotty. Great little State Park.
Great little swim spot, friendly staff on the lifeguard stand, and in the concession! The food is awesome and the prices are reasonable. They offer peddle boats, and kayaks for rent (and a launch if you have your own kayak/canoe) and the park has lovely trails for walking or mountain biking. The parking is ample and they have campsites/RV spaces as well! Be sure to visit the Visitor Center, they have a little shop that's fun to enjoy.
Shocked how nice it is. There's an artesian well spring right beside our camp grounds, spot #1, which is also next to this little lake. Kinda pricey, but nice. Very clean men's room with nice shower. Polite guests. Easy to collect firewood, at the first of April. I've camped in far worse places for the same money. There were two mounds of beaver dams (best guess) right beside our campsite!
Woolly Hollow State Park is a quick drive from Greenbrier, Arkansas and is based on a dam lake, Bennett Lake. This park has a somewhat secluded type of appeal offering a broad spectrum of amenities, such as hiking, biking, camping, picnic tables, snack bar, swimming, and more. Using the idiom, "just for kicks" might best describe the photo that includes a rather bewildering permanent "no swimming" sign next to the designated swimming area and "no picnicking" sign next to a picnic table. Sorry, this just couldn't be resisted! On a more serious note, you'll discover great hiking, easy access to the lake, plenty of room to move without crowds, clean restrooms, and a pristine Visitor Center. Of particular note, was the customer service received at the Visitor Center. We were treated as specia
