WoodSpring Suites Kansas City Mission

Positive: The staff was friendly and helpful at front desk. Negative: Common areas not very clean. Elevators were dirty and noisy. Toilet in the bathroom was very low and quite wobbly.

Floors & elevator was filthy. Hadn't been swept or cleaned. Stayed in room 218. Bathroom door wouldn't close, top hinge was broken. Floors were not clean. Shower curtain had mold. Shower barely sprayed. No hand towels. No tissue paper. Easily the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in.

I have never cared enough about a hotel to write a review before, positive or negative, but this one was so bad I am baffled it has above 3 stars at the time of writing. I will preface that we were put in this hotel for three nights by our employer, who disregarded the bad reviews due to it being near our job site. Within the first hour of us arriving we had an EMS and a firetruck arrive in front of the hotel and rush a stretcher inside (the firemen let us know while we waited for the elevator that they have been to this location SEVERAL times), and watched a man be arrested after having a shouting match with the police right outside our window. Granted, these may be the result of location and/or tenants, which may be outside of the hotels control, HOWEVER the following things are definit

I got to my room and found a mattress with a rubber cover and no sheets. There was a little blanket tossed on the bed along with what looked like some drapes or something, and a couple towels. In the bathroom, there was absolutely no toilet paper, but there was somebody's wet washcloth laying in the middle of the bathroom floor. By the time I got back to the front desk, it was shut down and the clerk had gone home for the night. While I was deciding my next steps, another fine guest was nice enough to run down the hall and beat on all of the doors. Rather than roll around in somebody's hepatitis., I slept in my truck. I was back on the road before the front desk opened up, so I have no idea how this mystery ends.. Not the best money i've ever spent. P.S. The kid at the front desk

I don't recommend this place. We found alive roach in the bed and the one in the picture on the floor next to the bed. When we reported it to the front desk they didn't act surprised. We offered to show them a picture they declined. The response was "We will have to call the exterminator to spray the room. In the middle of the night we were awaken by someone banging on the walls and yelling. The room had an overwhelming smell of cleaning fluid. It was so strong you could taste it. The room came with limited amenities, no soap, shampoo, or tissues. The shower was a joke. We will not be at this or any WoodSpring Suites again.
