Woodsmoke Campground

My husband and I stayed there in September 23,2024 for 1 night in our truck camper. It had full hookups and even a nice covered deck for my husband to do his morning workout on. The owner lives on the property. It was a beautiful area and it even had a beautiful trail to walk my dogs . We were on a whirlwind trip across the US or we would’ve stayed longer. It was camping in the woods with full hookups. I only hope it survived the hurricane.

I live local to this campground. In May, I purchased a motorhome to stay in up north while helping a family member with stage 4 cancer. My son and I needed to practice setting it up in a campground, and then getting it ready for departure. At the same time, AT hikers who I helped last year notified me they were coming to the area for a section hike. Perfect! I offered to let them stay in the RV instead of a hostel. I explained the situation to the campground owners. They were very understanding and accommodating. We got the RV backed in and hooked up and the hikers settled in. In the morning, they were able to tell us a few things that didn't work that we later fixed. The campground was very peaceful - no loud, partiers to ruin their camping experience. Two night stay leaving today. Bit scary driving up their narrow wooded trai lbut once at check in with our 26' class C towing toad, it was great. Very quiet, peacefull and owners are great. Walmart and awesome Mexican restaurant one exit South. A few campers have been here awhile waiting to build house or closing on one. Everyone extremely friendly. Being so remote, it surprising that had good wifi and TMobile cell worked ..They have a easy paved road/driveway leaving and not sure why that is not the entrance.Next time I would just take the right hand turn just past their enterance where sign is. Make it less intimidating...|

My family and I just got back from here. This was our first time that we stayed here in our pop-up camper and we loved it. The owners were so friendly. The bathrooms/bathhouses were so clean. This place is so quiet and up in the woods. No one ever really bothered you even though the campsites are so close to each other. Also, if you have kids, there is a nearby playground that you can take them too. Walmart is just on one exit up from the campground. I know that we only got a chance to stay one night, but we will be back soon.

We found this campground online by searching for campgrounds near us! It’s about 40 minutes from my driveway to campground! If your lookout for a quiet weekend getaway nestled in the woods, look no farther! Woodsmoke is located in unicoi Tennessee right off exit 32! At first I was worried that there may be excessive noise from the interstate but was quickly relieved that I could not hear any noise at all except the peaceful sounds of nature! We were greeted by the owners and guided to our site, they helped back us in and even had a special touch waiting for us on the picnic table! We asked for a late check out on Sunday and they were more than obliged to work with us! The bathhouse was clean and more than adequate! The atmosphere was calm and peaceful throughout our entire stay, no dogs ba
