Winstead Inn

Rooms need updating and repairs. Shuttle service to beach not reliable, front desk doesn't always pick up phone. Nice pool.

The Inn is a beautiful place with a beautiful garden and pool area. The room we had was very spacious with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. Everything was very comfortable and clean.||Breakfast was served in a very nice room and was ok. There were boiled eggs, but no other salty foods (no fried, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, whatsoever). The breakfast therefore from our perspective didn’t meet the choice we usually got at the cape (Eg Captains House Inn or Brewster by the Sea). However, it didn’t bother us that much and the staff were really friendly. On our last day the eggs run out and the staff immediately made sure there were fresh eggs.||Overall we definitely recommend this place.

||||||just now|New|Although we had a pleasant stay at Winstead, sadly there were just too many issues we weren't happy with. Unfortunately, we had pre booked the hotel for eight nights at a cost of $608-$658 per night, so we couldn't leave early.|The house is nice, old and full of character, there is a pool, and a beautiful garden. The Inn has their own beach, a short drive away, (not walkable). There is parking at the Inn but you need to check with the front desk about parking at the beach.||Unfortunately, the room we had (chart room) had no tea or coffee making facilities and when we requested some, it took another four days to receive a kettle. There was hot water in the dining room, but it wasn't boiling. A suggestion was made to microwave it..|Our room had a lovely claw foot bat

Stayed two nights in the Mariner’s Hideaway room. It was adorable, and very well maintained. We get nervous when there is carpet in hotels because of bad experiences in the past, but it was very clean. Breakfast was a nice perk to the stay - and they offered the standard essentials (yogurt, bagels, fruit, pastries, boiled eggs that you make yourself) while also offering homemade quiche. Pool was great. No complaints about this stay and already recommended family to stay there. Great central location to exploring the cape.

We couldn’t have had a lovelier experience. We were delighted to find availability there week of July 4th and enjoyed 4 relaxing nights with our 8 year-old son in tow. The pool was clean and warm—we spent time of every day there. And yet the place is intimate and charming; we enjoyed chatting with other guests but also enjoying the quiet. The Great Room is a gorgeous seeing for the continental breakfast and for quiet family time together too. The Inn’s staff was helpful and kind, and we popped over the beach resort for one morning on the beach. We also enjoyed all Harwich had to offer, including shopping, ice cream, shopping, a seal tour, and a day trip to Nantucket. We can’t wait to return.
