Winners Circle Resort

Living in Orange County, we weren't there to explore the San Diego area. We wanted to stay close and live like a local of that immediate area. We took our regular bicycles (not even e-bikes) and never used our vehicle after parking it on day one. There are 5 clean gas grills at the pool area that one would be wise to use. Recreation room with pool table. Our one bedroom was on the inside of resort, lower level, facing the pool. Was plenty large to accommodate 4 with the hideaway bed. Don't rely on the skimpy oven. It was challenged hard with cooking a frozen pizza. Next door Fish House has good happy hour and chowder. Tacos all over the area. My biggest complaint was with the wi-fi. At times, my tablet showed the speed fluctuate between the 40s and 150. And often it would just

the rooms are actually quite big and the water pressure in the shower is AMAZING. Additionally, the kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, pots, pans, a blender?!?, they got it covered. Downsides is that you can tell the hotel is a little bit older. Also, the hallways smell a little bit funky. The resort amenities are also surprisingly really nice! There is an outdoor pool, kid pool, hot tub, gym, free starbucks coffee in the lobby, and more. If you have a car, the location is great. Very easy to get around SD. (side note, there is a HEYTEA and OMOMO tea shoppe near the hotel!) If you plan on taking public transit, I believe there is not many options. Service is good. The lobby is 24/7.

I used to love this hotel, but it has gone downhill. When I arrived with a party of 5 people on Friday evening we had two towels in our room. I called down to the desk and received one more towel. On Sunday I told the person at the front desk that we did not have enough towels and she called me a liar! Finally on Monday, we got towels, but on Tuesday the cleaning crew took them away!!! So, we just used pool towels. ALSO - there is far too much chlorine in the hot tub and i smelled of chlorine for three days after our trip.

Room was nice. Two baths and a fairly functional kitchen. Need was comfortable. But the requirement for a 24hr notice to get a room cleaned seems extreme. Some of the desk staff seem like they don't care.
