Wind Rush Cottage Inn

The Wind Rush Cottage is open year-round and I can’t imagine a nicer place to stay in Chautauqua. The décor is charming, the rooms are comfortable and clean (looks like they’ve been remodeled very recently), and the shared sitting/dining room is perfect for getting to know and enjoy the company of the other guests. The owner, Betty, is very sweet. My room, on the second floor with a queen bed, was very spacious and included a Jacuzzi tub and direct access to a screened-in porch which opened to another porch overlooking Simpson Avenue. The location can’t be beat. There’s also a shared kitchen, A/C, and laundry. What a great find. Our room had a king sized pillow top mattress. It was lovely. However, if you stay there, understand that your private bath is NOT attached to your room. Our was across the hall. Also I was confused by the fact that you could not lock your room from the outside. We had a slide bolt on the inside, but I was a bit concerned about any valuables we had in the room when we went out. |I was also confused because we have yet to meet anyone who owns the place. When we arrived we found notes everywhere directing us to our room and bath. |The community kitchen has a broken microwave and a stove with only half the burners working. I'm glad we aren't staying long so we don't have to cook. |It's very clean and somewhat quiet, being located away from the main streets. But for the money charged I expecte
