Williamson Campground, USFS

Great campground area with access to the river and good hiking trails. Well maintained roads and is a beautiful drive with lush vegetation and lots of deer. Campsites are well set up, clean and with plenty of trees in between them.

There are areas where there's a few campsites that are located closer together. Benefit of these sites is that there are restrooms and the river is close to most fee camping areas and is calm enough to dip your toes in. Then there are also a few dispersed camping areas. There's my favorite site where it's far enough from the main road that you don't really see people driving by. The road can be busy since there's a trail head at the end of the road. Turning around there can be rather difficult because it is often over flowing with vehicles. There are also dispersed camp sites closer to the road which I would not recommend for families with small children or dogs, just cause of the road being busy. Beautiful location! There are only 9 sites and site #5 is a bit confusing because it is a double campsite with 2 firepits and tent spots that are very separated. First come, first serve, $6 per site per day. River is super close and there is a great swimming area with a rocky shore and even a rock to jump from (about 6 foot up).

Its beautiful and relaxing. This particular camp site was also the day use to get to the beach so you get to meet other people

Great little campground along the Lostine River. We went over the Memorial Day weekend and it was surprisingly quiet. The campsites back up against the river and there is plenty of space, so you're not crowding your neighbors. You have to bring your own water, but they do have fairly modern and clean pit toilets.
