Whittaker Campground

We had a wonderful time staying at Whittaker Campground for our trip to Cass, WV. It is located in a great spot and very quiet and peaceful. The staff was very attentive and assisted us with all of our questions! We will definitely be back!!

Close to Cass Railroad. If you are taking the train ride and need a quiet place to camp, this is 1.4 miles down the road. Bring cash. Not sure they take cards. $30/ night was reasonable for a place to stay and a hot shower. Not big rig friendly with 2 way traffic.

This campground accommodated our 44ft. 5th wheel. Even though our back end drug coming in in Gum Rd., we had the quietest stay and would have stayed longer but had other reservations. |Harry met us as we were chosing a site and was helpful and informative. |Not a lot for kids as far as a playground but I would stay here again if in the area. We did smell a skunk during the night😁 but the smell dissipated later. The view of the mountain nearby was awesome along with the road leaving the campground with huge horse pastures, barns, and old style fencing. |We never heard any traffic other than a dirt bike miles away. We saw deer and were always on the lookout for bear but never saw one. |Thanks Harry for a low cost quiet few days we spent at your place.

We had such a great time over thanksgiving this year at Whittaker Campground. Mr Gum is the nicest sweetest man and took such great care of us. He won customers for life with us! The campground is in a great spot and it’s all season, even water connections! They still have bathrooms and a shower as well. They even have cute cabins you can rent with groups of people for a reasonable price. We will be back a lot! Thanks for a great experience Mr Gum :)

We camped here over the Christmas holiday because it’s close to Snowshoe. We had full hook ups, and the owner has done a clever job of insulating the water system so that he can keep it on all year round. We have a 32 foot bumper pull camper, and it was no problem getting into either the campground itself or our campsite. Getting out was a little more difficult because it rained so much that the area where our campsite was in got a little muddy. If it were the summertime, it would be no problem, but in the winter the ground underneath was frozen, so the water soaked into the surface layer and made it harder to get out. but Mr. Gum and his son came right out to help us get out. He also mentioned that they are planning to have a load of gravel brought in to the spot we were in, so it shouldn
