A Non Profit organization maintains the famous Garst Farm which Soviet Premier Khrushchev visited in 1959. Today visitors can hike, bike, and kayak over the thousands of acres owned by the Whiterock Conservancy. My wife and stayed overnight in the historic Garst Farmhouse. The rates are very reasonable.
I visited this place a few times back when it was still Garst Farms. A great deal of land to do just about any outdoor activity in. Great trails, fishing, and canoe paths. The resort itself is a very nice place to stay. I have nothing but fond memories of this part of Iowa.
Great place to go and the house to stay at is great filled with history. The trails are great for all seasons.
We love White Rock for the quiet weekend getaway. Lots of history and lots of things to do.
Great location. Quaint. Perfect small-town atmosphere. Stunning views!
